Continuing Struggle”
Speaker: Dr. Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz is author or editor of twelve books, including winner of 2015 American Book Award:
An Indigenous People's History of the United States. Her first book, The Great Sioux Nation: An Oral History of the Sioux Nation and its Struggle for Sovereignty, was published in 1977 and was presented as the fundamental document at the first international conference on Indians of the Americas, held at the UN headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.

Dr. Yonka Krasteva will discuss the growing refugee crisis in the EU. She is an American Studies scholar who has done extensive research of cultural encounters between East and West and has taught courses at universities in Europe, Turkey and the US. She is the author of The West and the American Dream: Studies in Contemporary American Literature.
