About the Global Learning Center
Board
The GLC has a Board of Trustees, who are elected each year at the Annual General Meeting in January.
Board meetings are held at Watermarks Cafe on the first Saturday of each month, August through May, from 10 AM to 12 noon in the Starry Night room.
United Nations Speakers
Each year, on or about the Anniversary, October 24th, the GLC hosts an Anniversary Banquet and invites a member of the United Nations to speak about the UN's activities. Using our Endowment, we sponsor students to attend and learn more abou the UN.
Awards
At our United Nations Anniversary Banquet in October each year, we honor recipients of the Howard & Jeanne Johnston Award for Global Community Citizenship. This award has been presented to remarkable individuals and couples for the contributions to global learning, since 2000. It is named for founding members Howard & Jeanne Johnston, whose family is represented each year.
History
